We spent this series following one person for the day and learning who they are, what they do, and most importantly, why they do what they do.
ONE: Flight of the Ultra Lord follows a U2 spy plane pilot whose life is above the clouds. A cocksure smile spread across his face, as eyes that had seen thousands of miles while staring beyond the earth's curvature seemed to twinkle in the mid-morning sun. Slowly, the "Ultra Lord" leaned back in his chair as a medical technician checked his blood pressure - a necessary precaution.
I created a feature series called Win as One that focuses on individuals who work together to accomplish the mission.

Training videos are a challenge in and of themselves, but how do you document student & teacher interactions when there is a global pandemic?
With no students in the classroom, telling this story required creative angles, text highlights, and a fantastic Army NCOA instructor.
Army Staff Sgt. Donald J. Swain, a native of Willimantic, Conn, and a small group leader for the Fort Dix NCO Academy leads a virtual class during a Basic Leader Course on October 28th, 2020. The Basic Leader Course is a 22-academic-day, MOS immaterial course consisting of 169 academic hours and has been conducted virtually since April of 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Public Service Announcements
During COVID-19 we had to spread the word about how to protect each other from spreading it. Here is a quick way to put a public service announcement out to our community to remind them to keep a distance from each other.
#24 Spread Out, 2020, Video shows how simple text and animation can be used to inform the public during a pandemic. Adobe After Effects was used to create this animation.
#25 COVID Conversation, 2021, Video uses a simple interview with B-roll to tell a story. I mixed in a graphic still frame at the beginning using the first frame of the video to make it come to life.
Sometimes it takes a longer conversation to combat misinformation. This interview with a leader who stepped up and shared his story about COVID-19 and what he thought he knew was a way for us to reach our audience and dispel any myths they heard about vaccines.
